I’m JuJu. I’m a 59 year old gardener, artist, writer, culinary artist and post-partum doula. I’m taking a year off to go to Europe to focus on my mental, physical, spiritual, emotional and intellectual health. The world is on fire and I want to see it before it burns. I write hella long posts, so make yourself a cup of tea before you start reading….

Nov 6, 2025. UPDATE

I’m still JuJu, and I’l be 61 next week on the 11th. Once again I’ve left the US, now for an indefinite period of time. Read Why I Left This Time to find out why. I’ve changed the domain to Crones Curiosity because I am forever inquisitive about the world around me. I’m still coloring outside of the lines as a married Black woman, leaving home, husband, family responsibilities behind. Cultural norms would have me stay and care for everyone. Well, time to take care of myself for awhile.

“When women move away from routines and responsibilities, it doesn’t matter whether they cross city lines or continental divides, they are traveling the same psychic route: from a space overflowing with others’ needs to a space emptied of others’ needs.” The Marriage Sabbatical by Cheryl Jarvis
