Goodbye For Now

What a lovely evening I’m so blessed with amazing friends. I received thoughtful gifts and words of joy! It’s also wonderful to know that I’m an inspiration to others about following my dreams of traveling. My friend told me “you manifested the hell out of this.” Mama Ray said “you are doing the damn thing!” I am counting down the days. I feel sort of sad about leaving, but I’m THRILLED.  My current plan is to be in the UK for six months house sitting in Scotland and England. Then doing WorkAway in Ireland for two months on a farm or as a mothers helper. Afterward, I’lI go to Italy to see one of my best friends, who I met at the goat farm the first year I traveled. A friend asked me to housesit for her in a little town in Italy in June. The family I nannied for during Covid will be in Lisbon all summer. S said “Nana, we’re gonna need so much help with the children this summer.”  I said “I hope you find someone great.” Knowing her, I would never get to leave the house with the children to explore Lisbon.  Spain. Morocco.  I’ll decide what I want to do after that.

10/13/25 Sweet Sendoff

Girlfriends are the best. My sisters came to give me a sweet bon voyage and one of them even AirTagged me so she can keep dibs on my nutty self. I told her that I was leaving the US so I wouldn’t be under surveillance. She said that if she has to come rescue me from a cold place she’ll cuss me clean out. However, she wouldn’t mind coming to my aid if I was in Portugal.
