It’s OK
Music inspiration: It's OK by Nightbirde
I first heard this song on American’s Got Talent by Nightbirde. The song made me cry and what she said that day is written on the wall in my kitchen— “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.” I’ve decided to be happy now, to be grateful for all that I have, to spread love and kindness as I pass through this life. Today I took a shower and I suddenly marveled about how fortunate I am to have hot water to bath, on demand! That got me thinking about the water pressure and its importance in this pleasant bathing experience, even while the washer 6 feet away cleaned a load of my clothes. Then I went backwards and thought “what machine is creating the force of the water and how does it work? How many gallons of water per second are sucked from the Potomac to satisfy just my house’s needs? Then I went upriver to the mountains, then to the sky that produced the clouds that caused the snow and rain. And then I let the water gurgle into my mouth and I stopped overthinking the system, cut off the faucets, got out, toweled dry and got dressed. I went down the rabbit hole during that shower, but “we all get a little lost, and it’s ok”.
