No Goulash, thanks
Despite being in Budapest for a week, I never got the opportunity to say Nem gulyás, köszönöm. No goulash, thank you. I forgot to get a recommendation from my friend for a good restaurant, so J and I fed ourselves on kebab, pan fried noodles, lox, cucumbers, chese, wine and croissants. On one of our endless walks, we came across Sejong Korean Restaurant, named after the king who invented the Korean alphabet. Located at the end of the major upscale shopping thoroughfare, it has an unassuming, brightly lit front. After a long day of walking and thrift shopping, it was the perfect place to dine. Indeed, we salivated all day in anticipation of our meal! Seated at a table outside so that we could people watch, we ordered scallion pancakes, bibimbap and beef soup. The latter was particularly good, fragrant, spicy and filling. I wrote them a review, saying that I’d eat there every week if I lived in Budapest. If you’re ever in that city, stop by and get some wonderful grub.
